Speech Accelerator

This piece is a surreal exploration of human–AI interaction and our strange relationship with talking to artificially intelligent machines, from customer service bots to "intelligent assistants".

It combines projection and robotics to explore the crossover between the virtual and the physical.

Viewers talk into a horn, their speech is then converted into text using a neural network. Their words are then thrown out of a physical horn and into the virtual world landing in a projected picture frame. They accumulate there, sometimes kicked by a robotic foot and sometimes sucked back out into the physical world as sound.
